Municipal Candidate Qualifying

Candidate qualifying for the September 1, 2026, Special Municipal Election for Montgomery City Council District 3 begins Tuesday, June 30, 2026, and ends Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Individuals interested in becoming a candidate may submit a completed Statement of Candidacy [Statement of Candidacy - City Council] in person at the Montgomery Election Center, located at 125 Washington Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36104, during regular business hours.

The qualification fee for City Council candidates is $100.00, payable by check or money order to the City of Montgomery. In lieu of the filing fee, candidates may submit a petition [Petition Form - City Council] containing at least 200 signatures of registered voters residing in City Council District 3, as permitted by law.
